Now, when water seeps in, the WaterGuard drainage system will collect it through the wall flange, which has spaces to keep debris out and remain clog-free, allowing it to continuously easily capture any moisture. This system also has inlet holes in the design to capture any ground or floor/wall joint moisture seepage. All of that moisture collected in the system then flows to the SuperSump. This is an airtight, lidded system that contains a Zoeller cast-iron pump. This pump is not only reliable but also capable of pushing large volumes of water up and out of Jon’s basement.

When William went down to check his crawlspace before the cold weather swept in, he was shocked by what he found. Our Design Specialist put together a solution for encapsulating the crawl space that would help waterproof, insulate, and prepare it for the cold temps to come. 

The first step of the project was to install a drainage system and insulation on the walls and floors. The insulation used on the walls is called FoamMax. It will create a cohesive, bright white look in the space while also improving comfort and energy efficiency. Then on the floors is the TerraBlock Insulation System, a durable solution that also creates a vapor barrier. The team waterproofed the space, and then a perimeter of the SmartPipe drainage system was added to collect the leaking water and direct it to the SmartSump, a sump pump system specifically designed for crawlspaces to pump water up and out. The last piece to help give this crawl space a clean, bright look was installing the CleanSpace Vapor Barrier. This thick, white, durable liner also serves as a moisture barrier, helping keep William's crawl space dry.

Then the WaterGuard drainage system was installed to collect the water being directed down and flow it to the sump pump. Then the crew installed a second sump pump system, a SuperSump System, because it had a 1/3 HP Zoeller cast iron pump that will reliably handle pushing out large volumes of water. The last step in this waterproofing project was to add the SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier, which helps to eliminate that humid, musty odor that Ann had lingering in her basement.

Mike determined the best solution was a Xypex crack repair. This repair involves chipping the crack for better access and application of the Xypex crystalline repair. Xypex fills in cracks and pores of the concrete with crystals when in contact with water. These crystals prevent water from penetrating through the wall.

The crack was permanently repaired in an afternoon.
