The Crawl Space
Stephen had some soft spots in his floors above the crawl space, but didn't know what could be causing them. After our Design Specialist went out and took a look, he identified the problem was with water getting into the crawl space and created a tailored solution for Stephen.

Current Exterior Crawl Space Access Area
The crawl space originally was protected with a piece of wood in the front to prevent outside pests and debris from getting in. The issue with having a wooden door is that over time, the wood will crack, warp, rot, and deteriorate, requiring more annual maintenance.

Encapsulation Process
Before they began the encapsulation process, a SmartPipe™ Crawl Space Drainage System was installed along the whole perimeter. This drainage system is specifically designed for dirt crawl spaces and rests directly against the foundation. After the perimeter drainage system was installed, they can begin with the first steps of the encapsulation project, which involves placing down CleanSpace® Crawl Space Drainage Matting. This mat is a dimple draining mat that is designed to collect and then direct water to the sump pump and perimeter drainage system.

, CleanSpace Vapor Barrier
To encapsulate the crawl space, CleanSpace® Vapor Barrier was installed over the walls and floors. CleanSpace will permanently prevent moisture and outside pests and debris from entering the space.

SmartSump™ Crawl Space Sump Pump
This sump pump is specifically designed for crawl spaces with a unique lid design that works with the CleanSpace Vapor Barrier to create an airtight seal. This sump pump will help reduce moisture, remove water, and prevent flooding in the space as well.

EverLast™ Crawl Space Doors
To finish off this project, we installed an EverLast Crawl Space Door. This door will keep outside air, moisture, and pests out of the crawlspace with a thick plastic door that is almost indestructible.
