How A Sump Pump Gets Installed From Start To Finish
Have you ever wondered how a new sump pump gets installed? Whether you’re installing the TripleSafe™ Sump Pump System or our SuperSump® Premier Pump System, here are the steps we follow to set one up in your home!
Jackhammer The Sump Pit
Before we can install the pump, we need to jackhammer and remove the ground where the product will fit. We typically dig out around three feet till the top of the liner is flush to the ground.
Install The Sump Pump
Once the pit has been created and cleared of debris, the sump liner is installed, and then the sump pump is placed inside.
Connecting The Drainage System
We can install a new drainage system to flow to a new sump pump, or we can connect to an existing one.
Install The Exterior Drain Line
Once the sump pump liner is in place, the Team will start to plan and install the drain line. A hole is drilled in the basement rim joist that will allow the drain line to extend to the exterior.
Patch The Floor
Once the sump liner is in place and the exterior drain line is set up, cement is used to cover the surrounding areas of the sump pump, and we even cement over the edge of the liner.
Power On
Once the floor is patched up, we install the air-tight lid and connect the pump to its dedicated line. It’s best for the sump pump to have its own circuit!
Now your new sump pump is installed and ready to keep your basement dry. Sump pumps can keep water from damaging your basement, and the cost of installing a sump pump can save you money in the long run! So don’t wait and give us a call today to get your free estimate today!
