Crawlspace Access
Laurel's crawlspace was never fully sealed off. It had an open covering, allowing it to be exposed to the elements outside!
Inside the Crawlspace
After entering the crawlspace, dirt, debris, and additional blocks were found. There was no insulation in place, which was a major reason the room above was always much colder than other parts of the home.
Durable Floor insulation
Along the floor of the crawlspace, the TerraBlock insulation is laid down. This durable floor insulation provides a clean, dry surface that helps make the home more comfortable and energy efficient.
Sealing and Insulating the Crawlspace
Silverglo was installed all along the walls and ceiling of the crawlspace. This bright, graphite-infused insulation has a higher R-value (a measure of thermal resistance) than standard EPS foam. Plus, the shiny radiant barrier helps reflect heat, enhancing energy efficiency!
A Clean Finished Crawlspace
To finish off this crawlspace transformation, the CleanSpace Vapor Barrier was rolled out and taped in place. This thick, durable line will reduce moisture and humidity while sealing out cold drafts in winter.
