Leaky Stone Walls
This older home has a stone foundation that, over time, has allowed water to seep through and into the basement. Steve said it was a minor issue for now but wanted a solution before it got worse!
Cracked and Peeling Paint
In other sections of the basement, the walls were painted and had started to crack, bubble, and peel. This was due to the moisture seeping in!
Creating Room For The Drainage System
The first step the crew took was to create space under the floor against the wall for the drainage system. Since Steve's home is older with a stone foundation, there was no footer to be found!
Perimeter Drainage System
With no footer available, our team used a traditional perforated drainage system and the FlowGuard drainage system. Together, these two systems work to ensure that water seepage is effectively captured and carried down to the sump pump.
Effective Wall Covering Added
The CleanSpace Wall system is the ideal wall covering system for an old stone basement. This durable, flexible material can cover walls to create an effective moisture and vapor barrier.
A Super New Sump Pump Installed
Steve's basement didn't have a sump pump installed, so to create a complete waterproofing system, we installed a SuperSump. This allows all the water seepage to be drained here, then pushed up and out of the basement.
Small and Mighty Dehumidifier
The cherry on top of this waterproofing project was adding a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier to Steve's basement. This system eliminates damp, musty odors in the basement by drying and filtering the air!
