The darkening joints between the foundation blocks had James curious about what was happening. But when the problem grew into large stains, the truth became clear that water was the culprit behind the changes in his basement!
Older Sump Pump Setup
James had a sump pump, which was great, but the catch was that water never actually made its way to it! Instead, it collected around the sump pump pit but rarely made its way inside.
New Interior Drainage System
The WaterGuard drainage system might look simple, but it's incredibly effective at capturing water trying to make its way into any basement! Right where the wall and floor meet, we place this system, so it can catch any moisture seeping up from the ground or dripping down from the walls.
Surface Water Captured
n front of James's basement walk-out door, we installed a TrenchDrain. This system will capture any moisture trying to creep in underneath the door, and the grated cover can be removed easily to clear the drainage channel.
Two Systems Working Together
What makes these two drainage systems even better is that they both integrate seamlessly with each other. Any water the TrenchDrain collects flows into the WaterGuard drainage system and then down to the sump, so water is no longer hanging in James's basement.
Bright New Vapor Barrier
The CleanSpace Wall System really transformed the look and feel down in James's basement! It brightened up the space while working to keep moisture and humidity at bay. Now, if water ever tries to get in, it's directed straight down to the drainage system below!
Making Connections
With a new drainage system in place, we were able to connect it directly into James's existing sump pump! So while that pump rarely kicked on before, those days are officially over now that moisture is properly collected and channeled.
Sealing It All In
Nothing beats the final step of any waterproofing project, sealing it in with a fresh layer of concrete! It seals the WaterGuard drainage system in place and creates that seamless finish.
