Stained Basement Floors
It wasn't just the paint chips scattered across the floor that made Mary nervous about what was happening in her basement. She wanted to know why there were brown stains too! Bubbling Wall Paint
As moisture seeps into and builds up inside the concrete blocks of her foundation, it makes the paint on the other side bubble and pop! As the water builds up, it needs somewhere to go. Eventually the pressure becomes too much and starts pushing its way through and into Mary's basement.
Clogged Floor Drains
Mary didn't have a sump pump, just a cove drain and a large floor drain at the low point of her basement. That may have been a top-tier waterproofing solution in the past, but it wasn't anymore. On top of that, years of use had left the drain clogged with more dirt and debris than it could handle. Something better needed to take its place!
Semi-finished Look to the Walls
Mary used to have white walls, but now she has beautiful, bright walls that also double as an effective moisture barrier! If you look closely, that gray line in Mary's basement wasn't added for style. It's actually the top of the WaterGuard drainage system! This interior drainage system sits right under the floor, collecting water seepage before it has a chance to make its way out.
