Struggling Basement Before
Eric has had multiple issues in the basement over the years. Even though all of the plumbing issues were fixed, water and humidity still plagued the space!
Trails of Water Stains
Wet basement edges and trails of water stains were just one spot in Eric's basement, but they were a theme throughout. This meant cutting and removing the bottom of the wooden paneling, and only items sealed in plastic were safe from moisture's battle!
Down to the Bare Bones
Before we could implement a solution, we had to take Eric's basement back to basics! That meant removing furniture, stripping the walls of wood paneling, and creating a blank canvas for our team to work on!
Interior Drainage System
Underneath that fresh concrete, we installed the WaterGuard drainage system. This interior drainage system collects moisture seepage and carries it to the sump, keeping the basement edges dry!
A Better Than Ever Sump Pump
Water won't just sit and build up in the perimeter drainage system but will drain its way down and empty into the newly installed TripleSafe Sump Pump. With even more work being done down here, it was important to have triple the protection. And thanks to this system's three pumps inside, Eric's basement is definitely going to stay dry!
Framing Things Out
To help transform Eric's basement walls, we started installing a metal frame instead of wood. Metal is ideal over wood because moisture can sit and linger on wood framing, causing it to break down, rot, and mold, since it is an organic material!
Completed Basement Transformation
New walls and new flooring really helped Eric's transformed basement come together! The Everlast Wall Panels are stylish and designed for basement environments, with a cement-bonded, washable vinyl finish. The last section across the floor may look like hardwood, but it's actually our ThermalDry Elite Plank flooring, which is also made of inorganic materials, so moisture won't affect it!
