Leaking Crack in a Basement Wall
Dave and MaryAnn thought a DIY kit had fixed their leaky wall crack for good. That was until a puddle slowly started to grow right underneath it!
Prepping The Area
A great repair starts with great prep! Before we plug and patch the leaky crack, we want to make sure it's fully exposed and clear so we don't miss a single inch.
Plugged and Patched
Water can always find a way in, so we use a Xypex system to make sure there's no chance of that happening here! This hydraulic-like cement will go deep to plug and patch that crack so water won't have a chance to sneak through.
Adding An Extra Layer of Protection
We've sealed up that wall crack, but we're not done! We added a BrightWall panel and a strip of the WaterGuard drainage system in case water tries to make a reappearance here. These two systems work together to quickly and discreetly drain water away and into the home's current drainage system.
Wrapped Up Repair
The final step was getting everything back in place! We poured a small section of concrete to secure the WaterGuard drainage system, then rehung the blanket insulation for a clean finish.
