Since water was coming through the cracks, the Team used a Xypex repair system. It's designed to stop water flow quickly, seal cracks, and fill holes in the concrete. After BrightWall® panels were installed over the repairs and WaterGuard® drainage systems were placed just below each crack repair. These two systems work together, so if water seeps in from the walls, the BrightWall will help direct the moisture down to the WatergGuard to flow to the sump pump. Each step in this repair process helps make Erica’s home safer and keeps it dry next time it rains!

The Cracks

Erica noticed several cracks on one wall in her basement. But they became a larger issue when heavy rains would happen, and the cracks began to have water trickle through into her basement.

Xypex Repair System

The team used the Xypex repair system to stop water from seeping in through those areas and fix the cracks. This system stops water flow by plugging the cracked area and then sealing cracks, filling holes, and fixing other problems in the concrete.

The First Steps

First, the team looked for all the cracks in the wall and removed the damaged areas if needed. This part may seem like it's making the problem worse, but it actually helps!

Filled In Crack With Xypex Repair System

After digging the crack into a V-shape, with the deepest point of the original crack, they applied the Xypex repair system to seal the area they worked on.

BrightWall Installation

After using the Xypex repair, the team installed BrightWall panels over the repairs. If water comes through the walls around the repaired crack, the BrightWall will guide the water down to a drainage system.

WaterGuard Installation

To help direct any moisture that could come down from the BrightWall, we installed WaterGuard. What this sytem does is capture any water before it reaches the basement floor and then flows to a drainage pipe to your sump pump.
