The Crack
This crack was discovered in the basement of a home in Youngstown, NY. The potential new home buyers wanted to make sure that this crack was not only fixed but also sealed in case of any possible water damage.

Prep For Crack Repair
Before The Team could install the Xypex repair system, they needed to remove the damaged parts of the walls to create a V shape, with the deepest point being where the original crack was. This process may look like it's making the problem worse, but it helps to create a better surface for the Xypex repair system to work with.

Xypex Repair System
The Xypex repair system is a cement compound used for patching and repairs. It will help seal this crack and any of the surrounding defects in the concrete, allowing us to create a smooth surface.

BrightWall and WaterGuard Installed
Once the Xypex repair system is completed, a custom-sized sheet of brightwall is installed and secured with buttons. Right below the BrightWall, WaterGuard is placed so that if any moisture comes through the wall, it will then be directed down to the WaterGuard and flow toward the drainage system in place.

Final Touches To the WaterGuard
The final step is to cover the WaterGuard Installed with a smooth layer of concrete. This helps conceal the WaterGuard, exposing only a small piece, making it nearly invisible. And having no gap means that no humidity or debris can easily enter the system and cause further issues!
