Unsteady Supports
There were wooden supports that had been installed throughout Ashleigh's basement. At first glance, they looked okay, but if you really looked, you could see that many had chipped and splintered, while others had pieces stacked up in several places.
Creating The Base
Before any new supports were added to Ashleigh's basement, we created precast concrete pads. This system ensures that the new support sits on a very solid base!
Adding In Reinforcement
To add more strength and support to the concrete pads, rebar is added. Concrete slabs that hold heavy loads or are located in cooler climates have rebar added to help prevent cracking or excessive settling.
Newly Added Basement Supports
On top of the newly cast pad, we install our SmartJack system to stabilize the floor above. This system is made of Zinc-plated and galvanized steel components, so it won't rust, shift, or settle like a masonry pier or a wood post could.
