Small Cracks
These are the small cracks the homeowner, Melvyn, discovered in the plaster that happened to be above a crawl space in his home. To ensure these small cracks didn't turn into big ones, and a bigger issue, he reached out to the Team at Frank's Basement Systems.

Foundation Repair
After our Frank's Basement System Team took a more in-depth look at the foundation, they created a plan to replace the left-side foundation wall. The first step in the repair process was to prepare the ground and then install forms for the new 2500 PSI rebar-reinforced concrete footing.

The Reinforced Concrete
Check out another view of the 2500 PSI reinforced concrete installed in Melvyn's homes' partial foundation replacement. The team chose to use reinforced concrete for this project because it will help stabilize that area so the new joists can be securely anchored.

New Concrete Block Foundation Walls
The next steps in this partial foundation repair were for the team to install new concrete block foundation walls before the final steps could be completed!

Final Steps
The team's final steps to complete this project were installing new joists and adding new floor decking. After that, Melvyn's partial foundation replacement in Buffalo, NY, was complete!

What Was Discover
During the initial no-obligation free estimate, our Design Specialist went below to see what could be causing the small cracks in the plaster above. In the crawlspace, it was discovered that a larger foundational issue was at hand, with cracks in the foundational support beams, which are wooden. This could have resulted from excess moisture that tends to make wooden beams rot, shift, and crack!

SmartJackĀ® System
After the foundation repairs were completed, our Team moved on to install SmartJacks, steel support systems that permanently stabilize and level the new joists being installed in the crawl space. The SmartJacks are not replacements for the existing columns and piers, but are installed to add strength nd stability to what is already installed!
