Crawl Space Under House
Once our Team went down into the crawl space, they noticed that existing columns had settled and begun to crumble in spots. This is due to soil shift and settling over the years, often creating gaps between the top of the current supports and the support beam above. Once the column settles, the girder sags, and the floors above sag, making it a chain reaction.

Prep For the SmartJack Installation
Before the Team can install the SmartJacks, they will dig out a cube of soil where each SmartJack will be installed. That hole will then be filled with concrete to create a stable load-bearing foundation.

Measured Galvanized Steel Tubing
To ensure each Smartjack fits perfectly, the Team measures and cuts high-strength galvanized steel tubing to the appropriate height. The steel column and its components will then be assembled and connected to the new support beams that the Team also installed.

Installed SmartJack
After the column and the Smartjack components are assembled, they are connected to the support beam and tightened into place. The new beams and joists are immediately stabilized, allowing the floors above and the walls to be lifted, backed, and leveled out.

Finished SmartJack Installed
After the Smartjacks were installed, Darren noticed that the floors began to lift visibly, and they had less of a bounce when walking in the home. But the best part of the SmartJack installation is that it can be adjusted over time to provide additional straightening and leveling action if necessary!
