Signs of Water Intrusion
Dark stains were all over Mike's basement floors and walls. Especially after heavy rain or snow melting, he would find that these areas grew, or sometimes he'd even find puddles of water on the floor
Movement in Basement Walll
Foundation walls move inward primarily due to expansive soils and hydrostatic pressure on the walls from outside. A telltale sign of this happening in Mike's basement was the inward movement at the top of the wall and the several cracks along the foundation wall.
Interior Basement Drain Added
Before any moisture can make its way onto the basement floor, the WaterGuard drainage system captures it either via the system's wall flange or inlet holes and helps it flow down and into the sump pump.
Upgraded Look For The Basement Walls
To create a bright semi-finished look, BrightWall Panels were added to the basement walls. Not only do they look great, but they also work to prevent humidity and water vapor from passing through the foundation walls and into the basement.
I-Beams Installed For Stabilization
To stop Mike's basement walls from continuing to bow, several I-Beams were installed. These large steel beams lie flush against the bowing wall and are secured into the ground and the joists above, helping stabilize the wall!
