Stephen from Angola noticed that some areas of his floor were softer above his crawl space compared to other areas in his home. He wanted to find out what was causing his floors to soften before the whole floor above became soft. Our Team determined that water was getting into the space and was the primary cause. The goal was to create a complete crawlspace encapsulation and include a sump pump in the space to collect and remove water. Before they began the encapsulation process, a SmartPipe™ Crawl Space Drainage System was installed along the whole perimeter. This drainage system is designed explicitly for dirt crawl spaces and rests directly against the foundation. Then, CleanSpace® Crawl Space Drainage Matting is installed, which is a dimple draining mat that is designed to collect and then direct water to the sump pump and perimeter drainage system. To encapsulate the crawl space, CleanSpace® Vapor Barrier was installed over the walls and floors. CleanSpace Vapor Barrier will permanently prevent moisture and outside pests and debris from entering the space. After the space was encapsulated, a SmartSump™ Crawl Space Sump Pump was installed. This sump pump will help reduce moisture, remove water, and prevent flooding in the space as well.
